#How to install battletech mods mod
If the game has changed in a way that breaks an individual mod, that mod will need to be updated, but generally, this will only happen in large updates. Generally, updates can be dealt with by re-running ModTekInjector.exe - though sometimes ModTek will have to if certain game API's change. It's similar in concept to BepInEx, Unity DoorStop, and related programs that enable modding before the main Unity thread begins.

This file is a small program that injects ModTek code into HBS code before the main game-loop gets started. Some people worry about running ModTekInjector.exe as it's an unknown, unsigned executable file. ⚠️ You must restart the game to enable or disable an external ModTek! What is the Injector Repeat the process but enable the 'ModTek' mod to re-enable an external ModTek install. Restart the game, and only the in-game mod-loader will be used. To disable ModTek look through the mod list until you find 'ModTek', and disable that 'mod'. Run the injector program (ModTekInjector.exe) in that folder. You should now have a BATTLETECH\Mods\ModTek\ folder. Move the entire ModTek folder from the release download into the BATTLETECH\Mods\ folder. If ModTek is enabled, the "MODS ENABLED" check box will always be set to enabled. If the BATTLETECH\Mods\ directory doesn't exist, create it. ModTek 0.7.6 or higher can be enabled or disabled from within the in-game mods menu.

#How to install battletech mods update
BXE used to be the easiest to pick up, but with the clan update the potential exists to get fucking wrecked like in the other modpacks and I keep meaning to check out its dynamic map.
I'm not terribly familiar with BTR's curve, but from people's descriptions its likely to be the easiest to pick up if you'd rather just dive in. Fundamentally, the campaign holds your hand and doesn't teach you much about the core mechanics of Battletech. The difficulty curve that most people report problems with with most modpacks is due to them going straight in from the campaign or hunting down a Marauder first thing in career and easymodoing it. So as I've mentioned in other places, I would recommend a playthrough of career mode or two before picking up the mods.
